Mixed Metals: A Guide to Selecting Finishes for Your Bathroom
No longer are the days of having to only choose one type of metal for your home! Mixing metals is one of our favorite trends at the moment, but we also do not see this trend going away anytime soon. Here is the Teel Cabana approved guide for how to choose which metals to incorporate in your next bathroom renovation.
Do: Pick 2-3 different metals that you like. Make sure they complement each other well!
Do not: Mix metals in the same color family. This is a big no - no when it comes to nickel. For example, brushed nickel and polished nickel are not a good pairing.
Do: Select the same finish for all the plumbing fixtures. For example, if you choose brass for your sink faucets, use it for your shower faucets as well!
Our favorite pairing: We will often mix matte black and brass or brushed nickel and brass in our bathroom designs! In the bathroom remodel below, we chose brushed nickel for the plumbing fixtures and brass for the hardware, lighting, and mirror.
